Someone has said or published defamatory statements about me.

A defamatory statement is one which tends to lower a person "in the estimation of right-thinking members of society." Defamatory statements must be published, ie. communicated to a person other than the person who is the subject of the defamatory remark.

New Brunswick Courts recognize defamation as a real wrong and will award damages to a person who has been seriously defamed.

Defamation has strict time limitations, especially if the publication involves the media (ie. newspapers etc.)

If you feel you have been defamed, please feel free to contact one of our lawyers for a free consultation.
