I have been fired without reason.

An employer cannot dismiss an employee without reason unless he provides reasonable notice of termination of employment well in advance of the date of actual dismissal.

If no such notice is given, an employee is entitled to an amount equal to the wages he or she would have earned during an appropriate notice period. The length of this notice period depends on several factors including the length of service of the employee, what kind of job he or she had, his or her age and what prospects there are for the employee to get another job of similar stature, among others.

In addition a dismissed employee is entitled to be compensated for the loss of benefits during the notice period, if any.

If you have been dismissed without reason, you should consult a lawyer. Please contact us for a free consultation.
